In this increasing complex and challenging world, many of us are constantly running, overworked, exhausted and stressed. We all wish for a life with more ease, joy and less struggles. Together, we will engage in Mindfulness meditation practices to help develop the qualities and skills that can support our well-being and contribute to a more connected and flourishing life.

Format: Short group meditation, a talk/discussion, questions and answers

Practically Speaking: Somatics
Grounding with Self: An Interactive Wellness Practice

Grown Girl Fam! You are invited to join us on July 10 from 1:30-3PM PDT for Practically Speaking! Our next GP session is aimed at capable young folks ages 15-21 in navigating some of the more complicated parts of growing up and taking on more responsibility. During this session we will be guided by DeShauna West Anderson of The MelloWest Space in making room to communicate with our minds, bodies, and spirits. This workshop will allow participants to learn wellness tools to encourage them to prioritize the internal and external parts of themselves. The vision of the workshop is to learn and try on wellness tools which include: Breathwork, Meditation, Body Movement (Chair Yoga) and Intro to Chakras, journaling and sharing what is present in our mind, body and spirit. Come to this session with an open mind, and heart, ready to ground with yourself.

GIRL Project activities will be held outdoors after school on Wednesdays from 2:30-5 pm. We will provide snacks and all necessary materials. Our activities are crafted for 11-14 year olds but GIRL Project alumna are also welcome to attend the sessions. Activities include painting, tying sage bundles, identifying native California plants, and more. We will have a special artistic creation for a Día de los Muertos altar led by Xochitl Guerrero.
