GIRL Project Fall 2018
The goal of the GIRL Project is to facilitate a safe space for girls that will promote healthy relationships, self-worth, and healing through dance and artistic expression. Many GIRL Project attendees come from financially insecure households, so in order to make our program accessible to as many of our young community members as possible, we make sure that everything is completely free.
In fall 2018, the GIRL Project offered Wednesday after-school workshops from 1:00 to 3:30 PM.
Workshop activities included:
Singing with Indigo
Making up and recording spoken word poetry with M’kala
Making art with Allison
Building an altar for Día de los Muertos commemorating women
Making slime, which we then sold at EastSide Cultural Center’s Holiday Fair!
